Once Upon A Thyme, 2022

Could we bring back stories from our folk culture and/or build new mythologies to foster this connection again? How could aesthetics play a role in this?

“Once upon a thyme” is a story telling system made in collaboration with Storygarden, a non profit lead by Global Generation which works on connecting urban gardening with educational creative activities in London. 

The design is based on connecting folk culture and mythology with greening practices through playful functional planters that are customizable by the people of Somerstown. The designer only does “half” of the job of designing these, leaving space for the residents to complete the design in their own way with patterns and text that relate to their identity.
